Biology

  • Received and applied training on introductory bioinformatics based on personal interest in Biology and sciences overall, demonstrating tremendous capacity to retain and actively grow from high school science education.
  • Sequenced DNA code into amino acids and performed additional analyses on genomic data using packages like Bioconductor/Biostrings, seqinr, samtools, and ShortReads.
  • Used the SSH command line to work with tools like Blast to compare a human coronavirus 3C-like protease (partial) sequence against [NCBI’s protein database].
  • Used spatial biology techniques to map gene expression from mouse brain scans.
  • Learned to visualize data with attention to handling batch effects and multiple testing in large multidimensional datasets.
